Location
The Savoy Hill Exploration Area is located 20 km south of Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales. It is around 10 km north-west of the Dellworth Exploration Area and immediately south of the Drayton Mine.
Ownership
The holder of the Savoy Hill Exploration Area's tenement is Dellworth Pty Limited which is owned by Republic Coal (12.75%), NuCoal Resources (49%) and three other private companies (12.75% each).
Tenements
The Savoy Hill Exploration Area comprises exploration licence EL 6812 which covers an area of 20 km2.
Geology
The Greta Coal Measures are present within the Savoy Hill Exploration Area. The target seams are the Balmoral Seams.
Exploration
Previous exploration by the Joint Coal Board in the 1950s identified the presence of the Balmoral Seams in the Savoy Hill Exploration Area.
