Republic Coal is a privately owned Australian coal exploration, development and mining company.  The company’s main focus is the development of metallurgical coal resources which can be extracted using open cut mining methods.

Republic Coal sold its 33.3% interest in the Bonshaw Project to Whitehaven Coal in July 2008.

Republic Coal sold its 37.5% interest in the Baralaba Mine and its 20% interest in the Wonbindi Project to JFE Shoji Trade Corporation in October 2010.

Republic Coal sold 49% of its 25% interest (i.e. 12.25%) in Dellworth Pty Limited, the holder of the Dellworth and Savoy Hill tenements, to NuCoal Resources in April 2011.  The remaining 12.75% interest was sold to NuCoal Resources in October 2011.
The Baralaba Mine is located in Central Queensland and produces low volatile PCI coal.
